Snapshots of Seoul

28 May 2015

Maybe it was the fact that I had been traveling non-stop for a month and I was beginning to get burnt out. Maybe it was the fact that I didn't know the language. Maybe it was the winter weather that was setting in and the gray clouds that covered the sun.

Whatever it was, Seoul just did not click with me.

While my studies of East Asia had quite thoroughly taught me about China and Japan, I knew next to nothing about South Korea. I had one geography class that talked about the country for about three weeks then moved on. I knew absolutely nothing about the language other than  hello and thank you which I taught myself.

Regardless, Seoul intrigued me with its foreignness so I figured I might as well make a stop there while I was in that region of the world.

Seoul, South Korea

Cities, in a way, are like people; they each have their own unique character and some just rub you the wrong way.

Despite the fact that I didn't absolutely love South Korea, it was still a beautiful country with incredibly nice people that made my time there so worth it.

Here's are some of the things I saw during my time in Seoul:
